Eighteen children and two kindergarten teachers were injured after a stab attack in the city of Beiliu, in southern China’s Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
According to the Xinhua news agency, the police arrested a man suspected of committing the crime.
The attack occurred yesterday afternoon (28).
The criminal, who has not yet been identified by the authorities, would be 25 years old.
Two of the injured children later died, while two others are seriously injured and are undergoing surgery.
The other victims are in stable condition, reports Xinhua.
The city’s health department is asking residents to donate blood to help care for the wounded.
In January 2020, 37 people were also injured at an educational institution in southern China’s Cangwu County by a security guard who wielded a knife.
In 2018, a woman with a kitchen knife injured 14 children in a kindergarten in Chongqing.
A few months later, a woman armed with a kitchen knife attacked children at the gate of a kindergarten in the southwestern city of Chongqing, injuring 14 people.
